Having A Vision and What That Means

Everybody has a vision.  Some people know that they have a vision.  Some don’t.  Some people groom that vision and make it come true.  Some don’t.

The people who don’t know they have a vision are the ones that you hear complain the most.  They look out and see what they don’t like and they make it important and discuss it and think on it, until it becomes their vision which brings more of those things to complain about into their sphere.  You will notice that sometimes they will actively look for more proof to egg on their complaints and this is how they accomplish their vision.

Sometimes people who are making progress toward their vision, get caught in the loop of what is wrong in their life right now.  That can happen when a concerned friend or relative asks about their issue in a way that forces them to try to be honest if things aren’t going right.  That can also happen with the smashing impact of fear and wondering if that too could happen to you, or what on earth is wrong with people; ETC.  I don’t have to go into detail.  I’m sure each of you are far more informed of the daily news than I am.

I have been remarkably careful with input I allow to reach me as I heal and grow and expand my vision.  But every once in a while, a little something sneaks through that gives my energy a shake-up.  I don’t think that is bad entirely but it’s on me if it topples my vision.  That’s why it is important to revisit my own vision on a regular basis.  I can tweak it and keep it up to date.  My Achilles Heel, as I’m sure you’ve all heard me mention before, is when someone else questions the enormity of what I am attempting to do.  Sometimes I can shake this off easily because I know that I can do it, like when somebody is questioning my ability to cut a tree down.  It’s not so easy when it’s a question of tidiness or having a mowed lawn, or the weeds all pulled.  These times, I have to go inside of me and remind myself that the vision which I set before myself trumps all perceived reality by anybody else’s standards including my own.  If I take a minute and examine my vision, I can come up with the two following sentences that put me back on track in my head. “Tidiness is not the goal at this time. Organization is the core goal I’m working on now”.  It is important to generate this kind of response if you are prone to caring about what other people think of you and that includes what you think of you.

Some people recognize that they have a goal and they consciously work toward it.  Goals are the basic parts required to make the vision come true.  We must accomplish many goals before our vision becomes reality.  In my vision, my income will increase drastically due the manner in which I utilize my property.  There are many goals to support that and they can be changed or modified as needed to support the vision of a huge increase in my income.   My income is only a part of my vision.  As I stitch my vision together, it includes health, relationships, income, time, and recreation.  I learned to write my vision in Dream Builders, and I learned more about tweaking it in the 11 Forgotten Laws of the Universe, and in Into My Genius, helped me to understand that my unique perspective, my vision, and my attitude, will bring me the success I strive for as long as I keep my commitment to myself.

Right now, it is easy for us as mankind to have our attention diverted to the “wrong” things that are going on in our world.  It is easy to stand up and lecture about Hell and Hand-baskets.  It is easy to be a lemming. But in the midst of that, something beautiful is emerging between the lines and between the bad news and the shortages.  Little pockets of people are identifying how they can stand up for peace and many of them are dropping their old stereotypes for a new understanding of the individual and how each of us are a part of a bigger whole.

So how do we start writing our vision?  I started like this.  “I want to feel strong and healthy…”  Once you know that much, you take it the next step with clarity and write what you want as if it has already happened.  Write as if it is 5 years in the future and you have accomplished all of it.  “I am strong and healthy!  I wake up energized and vibrant! The bone spur in my foot has dissolved and the footwear I use has eliminated all of my foot pain.  My profit for each of the last four years has been over $150,000 and increased each year.  I have plenty of time to do the things I love and my vacations meet and or exceed my dreams including the ones that I can take my dogs on.   I love the team I work with who maintain my grounds.  They are funny, good workers, enjoy their work, and have super ideas that enhance our income and keep us happy.  My Air BnB ideas have been amazing and are highly successful because they are unique and enjoyable.  My seasonal “Halloween Walk” has been successful beyond any of my expectations.  My team loves this event and partner with me to make it fun! I love seeing all of the cute little composting toilet outhouses through-out this property.  They are a joy to maintain…

Once you get started it is easy to want to step back and cross off things that you don’t believe can happen.  Don’t bother.  Become more interested in how you feel when you write your ideas.  If your stomach is sinking, that idea probably isn’t the right one for you.  If you are overwhelmed with what you are writing simply erase or delete and start with how you want to feel in 5 years’ time.

As I close this article, I can feel the sun warm on my back even though it is outside on the other side of a solid wall.  I see my employee-team smiling and eager to get to work.  I see my goats enjoying a series of pens and working toward enhancing my dreams by gobbling their way through the bushes.  I picture myself saying good bye as the ladies leave from a really great SoulCollage ® session.  My clients are fantastic people who value my time and pay me very well.  I see every one of you reading this with a smile on your face knowing that I believe in you.

Sincerely, Carmen
