Emerald Aisle Forest I am nearly two weeks past the date I prefer to post, but I was deeply occupied doing things that really matter to me and most of them included traveling. Since early April I have put over 2000 miles on my car.  That is a lot for me!  I have dug razor clams, picked morels, gone fishing, helped my aunt with an estate sale, shopped with her for a new place to live, walked on Rialto Beach, and more.   During my recovery it became clear that I have to make even more changes to my lifestyle if I want to continue to live here and thrive.  The most important thing that I have done is to change the name of my place from Emerald Aisle Farm to Emerald Aisle Forest.  Honestly, it is much more of a forest than a farm.  As a forest I will be able create a harmonious balance with my surroundings versus the constant battle with nature in order to farm small parts of this property.  Emerald Aisles are Green Paths or Green Trails and those I have in abundance hence the name in th

Our Amazing Brain

Image
https://youtu.be/JYalx8bvEyg "Brain surgeon reveals how to heal trauma" is in the headline for this excellent podcast where Lewis Howes interviews Dr. Jandial.  I have personally spoken with brain surgeons but not one with this ability to express how the brain works and heals.  I suggest listening to the above interview while you are doing your chores.  It is long but worth it! Lewis Howe's is an amazing interviewer.  I have listened to well over 50 of his interviews and have gone on to do further research on most of those guests.  As far as I can tell, politics are NOT on his list of discussions.  He is a man who created The School of Greatness podcast to share information about embracing health, growth, and change.  The link below takes you to his podcast page.  https://lewishowes.com/podcast/ My Brain I have been incredibly unforgiving of the way my brain works in the past.  Today I am grateful for the ability I have to be able to deal with the emotional whiplash of

Why Do We See The World Around Us As Bad?

https://untetheredsoul.com/michael-singer Michael Singer Podcast I listened to this podcast while cleaning clams and doing kitchen chores this morning.  The link above the podcast link is a short biography of his work.  He is one of the many speakers I listen to and his message is one of the most powerful.

Bouncing Back From Grief

Image
Bouncing Back From Grief We are often expected to bounce back from grief.   Our nearest and dearest can be impatient with what they perceive as our lingering. Pressuring us to move on almost always creates a niggle of wrong doing inside of us.   Nobody is pressuring me to move on but then I am not talking about it every day so it really has little impact on anybody else.   In my grief over the loss of my dog I’ve connected with a deeper older grief that I have not set free.     And that older grief scratched the surface of an even older grief.   It seems like the deeper I dig, the more I dig up.   Because I cannot remember the source of my older grief all I can face is a nagging feeling. I did not used to know that much of what I was experiencing was grief, because I did not know to identify the feeling with that name.     One old grief that thrust itself forward was coming home from school one day to find the giant teddy bear that I had been given was gone.   It was taken without

Self Awareness

Image
Good morning, everyone, You may have noticed that I did not post for the month of January 2022.   I could have written something ahead of time but I didn’t.   I could have written something last week but I didn’t.   I chose to be on schedule with the February post.    I could not have written anything for four weeks because of the position my body had to be in for optimum healing from my foot surgery. Self-awareness is a practice that I initiated several years ago, but that practice has deepened over the past year and intensified in the last two weeks.   My concept of self-care has greatly expanded just in the last eight weeks.   I wrote a post a few months ago about my pain with my foot. I even managed to make the connection to my life foundations.   Wednesday will be the end of the 5 th week after the surgery.   I have been freed to put 60 lbs of pressure on the healing foot but it could be longer than three weeks before I can walk again.   This is my big chance for making a f

Original Statement

This is the original statement We are "Partners in Believing".  We believe in each other.  We are each on a separate journey of mastering our minds.  We recognize that we are making free choices. We share our accomplishments and dreams to strengthen our vision.  We offer support to each other.  We are not defined by our circumstances. The reason I updated my statement is because I am about to make this blog a lot more public than it is now.  It is time to really generate " Partners in Believing" .  (I will read through each post and lock each one that I believe could have a direct reflection on anybody I know that could cause them harm.) I have chosen to share with people in my life who I believe are really expanding their belief in themselves but it is not leading to a visible expansion.  This is caused by me, not them. It is a reflection of my action or lack of action in my world.  Sharing our(my) growth is incredibly important.  It is very easy to reach out on

Prayer Most people are familiar with prayer in some form.   Even people who do not call themselves Christian often reach out in a form of prayer that expresses what their desire is.      If you want to learn to pray the way someone else does, you can research prayer books, listen to people pray, and discuss prayer with those who do a lot of it.   You will find a variety of methods and beliefs that will astonish you. There are a lot of people who pray out of habit and not desire.   Some people pray from a sense of guilt and even when they don’t feel guilty, they pray exactly as if they are.   Some people close their eyes in prayer and others talk to God, eyes open, staring into sky.   Some people kneel and others stand. The topic I am addressing today is very touchy to those who believe prayer is a demanding litany.   A lot of disappointment comes to those who treat God as if he is their earthly father.   If your prayer is simply a list of demands or requests, you will not get t
