Can I duck and parry each critical remark or thought I make to myself?

Can I hug myself?

Can I see my own beauty?

Can I see the light in my own eyes?

If I can't win this fight with me, maybe I will compromise.

Sometimes it can be my way and others it can be my way!

Being Overwhelmed

Overwhelmed: One definition as a verb: "Bury or drown beneath a huge mass." I always perceived the word to mean, "I give up because there is too much to do."   I have always been buried beneath much more than one person could accomplish but I didn't drown.  I didn't give up. I did reach a point about 5 weeks before Ben died where I thought I couldn't take another step but I cried myself to sleep and when I woke up in the morning I was ready to go at it again.  That week I had to leave him at the hospital for 3 days and I got some much needed rest.  That got me through the last month of his life.   Fear is a Learned Response In 1920 a scientific experiment was performed on a baby called Little Albert.    John Watson wanted to know if fear was a learned response.   He proved a point, but at what expense to Little Albert? It is very easy for us to be appalled by what I’m about to share with you.   Do your best to set that response aside just long enough to reflect on how this style of teaching may have been practiced on you and the possibility that it has led you to have perpetrated actions on people in your life that used this style of teaching.   Boiled down, I am suggesting that we as humans, teach what we have been taught, in the manner in which we have been taught.     The good news is that we can modify our behavior once we become aware of it.
